Hostess
Position Summary
Prepares the dining/breakfast area by cleaning the area, properly arranging the furniture, emptying the trash receptacles, making fresh coffee, and stocking the drink and food items, and other supplies (e.g., plastic ware, napkins) according to operating standards. Provides fast, friendly and efficient service to all guests.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
During Complimentary Breakfast hours of operation:
• Handles set-up and breakdown of continental breakfast, lunch and dinner items.
• Greets and acknowledges guests as they arrive. Ensure all guests receive excellent customer service.
• Busses and cleans tables as needed.
• Straightens chairs and properly arranges furniture
• Maintains the cleanliness of the breakfast area
• Restocks drink and food items and other supplies (e.g., plastic ware, napkins) according to standards and makes fresh coffee as needed.
• Empties trash receptacles.
• Thanks guests as they depart.
• At the close of the complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner buses and cleans all tables, cleans and mops the breakfast area, empties the trash receptacles, disposes of all drink and food items and supplies in accordance with operating standards and health codes. Stores all unused drink, food items, and supplies in accordance with standards and health codes.
• Cleans all equipment and properly store them according to standards.
• Receives supplies, dates and rotates stock. Completes and records inventory on inventory sheet and follow hotel operational procedures to ensure an order is placed for items that are below par levels.
• Performs essential job functions in accordance with local health department codes, standards and regulations.
• Assists with cleaning and maintaining other areas of the hotel.
• Respond to guest needs, special requests and complaints.
During other hours of operation:
• Processes guest invocations of 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
• Smiles, acknowledges and greets guests at front desk and other public areas.
• Assists other employees in various assignments, such as operating the hotel automobile or courtesy van, and assisting with complimentary breakfast, laundry and housekeeping.
• Perform duties in accordance with Safety and Security Policies and Procedures.
• Perform duties in accordance with OSHA, HAZCOM, and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations.
• Report lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Reports to work reliably and on time for scheduled shift, in a neat and clean uniform; maintains well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy.
• Performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Key Skills Sets & Experiences):
- One-year related food service work experience.
• Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation with guests.
• Must pay close attention to details. Must be able to visually inspect area, compare observations to standards, and correct deficiencies.
• Must be available to work 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, weekends and holidays. Must be available to work a flexible schedule.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedure
